who am i?

hi there! my name is matthew ruderman, i am 26 years old and I have been taking photos for over 8 years now. (since 2014!)

to me, photography is both story-telling and documenting the beautiful things around us. i personally believe in taking a more candid and laid back approach to photography as i believe people shine best when they can be themselves, so whether it be a portrait session or a wedding, i am a firm believer in being easy-going and flexible, able to capture moments without getting in the way and also giving directions when needed to ensure we produce the best work possible!

i have a love for analog photography, i shoot a lot of film, whether it be 35mm, 120 or Polaroid, and i am always eager to incorporate that in my shoots. i believe shooting with film slows you down and it has helped also improve my digital work by being more calculated and considering while taking photos.

while i have been shooting nightlife every week for the past 5 years (bar a break for a pesky pandemic!) i also love taking photos of people, capturing work in a studio, shooting for brands and recently have begun shooting weddings as well which i have really enjoyed because it is absolutely amazing to be able to capture someones most important day of their lives!

i love travel, food and i am a bit of a nerd when it comes to camera gear and watches!
